Web Development ArticlesWeb Dev News: Google Gadgets Available for Other Websites - Symbiotic MarketingPublished: 4th Oct 2006 Google Gadgets are now available for use on websites other that Google. Webmasters can now simply plug in a little piece of code and the Google Gadget will appear on their site.
This has the benefit of allowing site owners to add to the value or usefulness of their own site while Google gets even more exposure in return. Google is truly on the path to becoming wholly ubiquitous! It won't just be Google that benefits though. Many of the gadgets available through Google Gadgets are designed by thrid parties who use the Google platform as a way to increase their distribution. This technique of allowing other sites to use content and/or functionality from a central site is an effective marketing strategy for sites aiming to build a strong user/customer base. A phrase that nicely describes this marketing strategy is "symbiotic marketing".
